The Nest

THE NEST The nest is a wood design project conceptualised and built for the Finnish institute in London as part of the wood program. Algorithmic architectural model building techniques were employed abstracting a slice of finnish conifereous forests. The individual pieces were formed by CNC precision cutting and forming process and assembled in situ not very different from a lego construction style. The full scale model before being rested on its intended abode which was the Finnish institute building’s terrace, was displayed at the Fiskar’s wood design festival of 2010 and the London design festival 2010.
